  13. XMX is an X protocol multiplexor.  It is a stand alone utility for displaying
  14. an X Windows session on multiple displays.  XMX takes advantage of the
  15. networked nature of the X Window System by tapping the communication link
  16. between an X client and an X server.  In this way, XMX works with any
  17. X clients and any X servers, without the need to modify either.

  19. It connects to some number of X servers as a client, then accepts connections,
  20. as an X server itself, from some number of X clients.  It passes packets 
  21. unaltered between the clients and on controlling server.  As it is doing this,
  22. it filters and modifies the requests and passes them along to some number of 
  23. slave servers.

  25. The effect is of an x session controlled by one server broadcast to the other
  26. servers.  The windows controlled by xmx on the slave servers do not accept
  27. input, they are a visual echo of the controlling process.
